The Aviatik (Berg) C.I was a World War I Austro-Hungarian two-seat reconnaissance biplane designed by Julius von Berg, one of the most successful Austro-Hungarian aircraft of the war.

History
Julius von Berg designed the C.I for Österreichische Aviatik to replace earlier reconnaissance types. The design featured a clean streamlined fuselage and I-strut interplane bracing. It entered service in 1916 and was produced in substantial numbers, serving on both the Italian and Eastern Fronts. Berg's design was considered one of the better Austro-Hungarian aircraft of WWI.
Variants
The C.I was produced in several series with different engines including the Austro-Daimler and Hiero; later versions had improved armament. The single-seat Berg D.I fighter was a related development.
