The 767-200 was the original 767 variant, the first US widebody twin-engine airliner, seating around 216 passengers on a fuselage 6.4 m shorter than the -300.

- Shortest 767 at 48.5 m — noticeably shorter than -300ER, similar in overall length to a 757-300
- Two large turbofans under a low swept wing; semi-wide twin-aisle fuselage
- No winglet extensions; relatively compact silhouette for a widebody
Shorter than the -300ER by 6.4 m — the -200 looks noticeably compact for a widebody; its twin-aisle cross-section is the same width as the longer variants, making it appear almost wide for its length.

History
United Airlines launched the type in August 1982, and it became the ETOPS pioneer, proving twin-engine widebody transatlantic flight. Only 128 were built; airlines quickly preferred the stretched -300 for better economics. The -200ER extended range for transoceanic routes.
Variants
The -200ER added extra fuel and higher MTOW for extended range; the -200BDSF is a Boeing-converted freighter.
Where you'll see it
Most passenger -200s retired; -200ER examples remain with a handful of smaller carriers; -200BDSF freighters active in cargo operations.
