Boeing XP-7

The Boeing XP-7 was a single prototype pursuit aircraft developed for the United States Army Air Corps in the late 1920s, powered by a liquid-cooled Curtiss Conqueror engine. Only one example was built and it did not lead to production.

History
The XP-7 was essentially a Boeing P-12 biplane airframe fitted with the Curtiss V-1570 Conqueror liquid-cooled engine to evaluate its performance against radial-engined competitors. Tested in 1929, it showed no significant advantage over radial-powered types and was not ordered into production.
