WEFT is AircraftIQ's four-point recognition method — how it works.
Spot it by:
- Large twin-engined biplane with a 23 m wingspan on a 16.7 m fuselage
- Two water-cooled V-12 piston engines
- Three Lewis machine-gun positions: nose, dorsal and ventral
It carried a crew of four and three 7.7 mm Lewis guns in the nose, dorsal and ventral positions, with up to 800 kg of bombs.
Specifications
- The Breda A.8 has a length of 16.7 m (55 ft).
- It has a wingspan of 23 m (75 ft).
- Its maximum speed is 175 km/h (109 mph).
- Typical crew: 4.

History
It was designed as an improvement on the Breda A.3, modified to rectify problems experienced with that aircraft.
Variants
It was tested first with two 440 hp Lorraine-Dietrich 12Db engines and then with two 500 hp Isotta Fraschini Asso 500 engines.
Where you'll see it
Only one was built. Its performance was disappointing even after the engine change and the design was abandoned.
