The Caravelle 11R was a combi passenger-freight variant of the Sud Aviation Caravelle designed for mixed traffic operations. It featured a reinforced floor and a large cargo door to handle both passengers and freight on the same flight.

History

First flown in 1967, the 11R was developed to meet demand from airlines in developing markets that needed flexibility between passenger and freight carriage. Only a small number were built as the market for pure passenger jets was shrinking for the Caravelle by this time.

Variants

The 11R is the combi version of the Caravelle 10R; the unrelated Caravelle 12 was a further-stretched pure passenger variant produced in small numbers.
