History
The Navy acquired fifteen Citation II aircraft as T-47As in the early 1980s to train naval flight officers in radar navigation and systems operation, replacing older propeller-driven trainers. They were based at NAS Pensacola and NAS Kingsville.
Variants
The T-47A is a lightly modified Citation II; no distinct sub-variants exist within the Navy fleet.
Where you'll see it
Operated by the U.S. Navy from the mid-1980s until retirement in the early 2000s, replaced by the T-6 Texan II and simulator training.
