WEFT is AircraftIQ's four-point recognition method — how it works.
Spot it by:
- Wooden cantilever monoplane with a high three-part wing
- Short rectangular centre-section with straight-tapered outer panels
- Almost semi-circular cantilever tailplane mounted on top of the fuselage
It has a narrow, deep fuselage with an aerofoil-like profile and the pilot's open cockpit at the wing leading edge. It landed on a pair of skids with a tailskid.
Specifications
- The Czerwiński CW I has a length of 6.05 m (20 ft).
- It has a wingspan of 11.65 m (38 ft).
- Typical crew: 1.

History
Design work began in 1923, but the structure was not completed until 1926 and the covering was finished in 1927. Its first, car-launched flight was made on 13 March 1928.
Variants
There were no variants: only one was built. It was the first of the glider designs of Waclaw Czerwinski.
Where you'll see it
On 26 May 1928 it made the first true soaring flight in Poland, at Lysa Gora near Zloczow. The flight lasted 253 seconds and gained 40 m in altitude.
