History
It was designed as an inexpensive, easy-to-fly and easy-to-build ultralight motor glider. The Piuma Original first flew in 1990. It is wooden with doped fabric covering and a 22 kW KFM 107er engine.
Variants
The family includes the Piuma E, Piuma Evolution, Piuma Tourer, and the side-by-side two-seat Piuma Twin Evolution of 1998. The Tourer has a shorter 10.39 m wing.
Where you'll see it
Thirteen had been built across all models by 2003. The Original has a glide ratio of 17:1 and air brakes on the wings.
