The Dornier Do 28D Skyservant is a German twin-engine STOL utility transport, distinguished by its unusual engine mounting on short fuselage stubs rather than in the wing.

History

The Do 28D was a clean-sheet design retaining the Do 28 name while offering a larger cabin and twin engines for improved safety and performance. It first flew in February 1966 and replaced earlier Do 27 and Do 28 variants in military service.

Variants

The Do 28D-1 was the initial version; the D-2 featured uprated Lycoming IO-540 engines; the Do 28D-5/6 Turbo Skyservant had turboprop engines.
