History

Flugtechnische Fertigungsgemeinschaft Prag built the approximately quarter-scale test aircraft. It was completed early in 1944 and fitted with a temporary wheeled undercarriage of ten small wheels.

Variants

Only one FGP 227 was built, as a single test aircraft for the BV 238 programme.

Where you'll see it

It would not take off from the grass airfield and was moved to Travemünde, where wing damage in transport delayed flights until September 1944. All six engines then stopped from fuel starvation after take-off, but it flew several more times afterwards.
