History
The Avenger was designed to meet the US FAR 103 ultralight rules, including the 254 lb (115 kg) maximum empty weight, and was introduced in 1994. It was originally intended for a Half VW engine but was initially marketed with a Rotax 277.
Variants
The standard Avenger has a regular firewall for two-stroke engines. The Avenger V has a firewall 2 inches narrower to take Volkswagen-based engines.
Where you'll see it
Fisher reported 50 Avengers flying by December 2004, most of them as unregistered US ultralights. About 65 had been completed by the end of 2011.
