The Shahpar is Pakistan's first indigenously developed reconnaissance UAV, designed and built by GIDS for real-time intelligence gathering and battlefield surveillance.

History
Developed in the early 2010s under Pakistan's programme to achieve domestic UAV capability, the Shahpar was publicly revealed around 2013 and entered limited service with Pakistani armed forces. GIDS positioned it as a medium-altitude, long-endurance platform suited to monitoring Pakistan's complex border terrain. The programme demonstrated Pakistan's growing defence-industrial capacity alongside contemporaneous efforts in the Burraq armed UAV.
Variants
Shahpar-1 initial production; Shahpar-2 proposed upgraded variant with extended endurance.

Operated by Pakistan Army and associated intelligence organisations for surveillance missions. Primarily deployed along Pakistan's western and northern borders.
