The Hawker Osprey was a two-seat biplane fleet spotter and reconnaissance aircraft operated by the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm in the 1930s, the naval equivalent of the Hawker Hart bomber. It served from aircraft carriers and was also used as a floatplane from cruisers.

History
First flown in 1928 as a navalised Hart, the Osprey entered FAA service in 1932. It equipped carrier-based and fleet spotter squadrons through the 1930s, operating from carriers including HMS Glorious and Courageous. Exports went to Spain, Portugal, Sweden, China, and Austria. It was progressively replaced by the Swordfish and Walrus from the mid-1930s.
Variants
Osprey Mk.I through Mk.IV differed in engine marks and detail equipment; floatplane conversion versions were standard for cruiser-borne operation.

Served extensively with the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm from 1932, and was exported to Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Austria, and China; a genuinely significant Royal Navy type.
