The IMAM Ro.1 was an Italian two-seat reconnaissance and observation biplane produced in 1927, designed to serve the Regia Aeronautica in the army cooperation and reconnaissance role. It was one of the first designs from Meridionali (later IMAM).

History
Designed by Meridionali and entering service in the late 1920s, the Ro.1 was a conventional strut-braced biplane of the interwar period. It served in small numbers with the Regia Aeronautica and was later used by colonial aviation units.
Variants
The Ro.1 was followed by the Ro.1bis with a different engine; subsequent IMAM Ro-series designs developed into a significant family of Italian interwar aircraft.
