History
Designed to meet a wartime Army requirement for a simple liaison aircraft capable of operating from small fields, the Messenger first flew in 1942 and entered limited RAF and British Army service. Postwar it found a ready civilian market and was popular with private owners. Its triple fin arrangement was a Miles trademark on several designs.
Variants
Several marks with different engine fits; the Mk.2 was the main civil version with a de Havilland Gipsy Major engine.

Served with the British Army Air Corps and RAF for liaison duties 1943-45, then widely used by civilian owners in the UK through the late 1950s.
