History

First flown in 1935 at the Voronezh aircraft factory, the SAM-7 Sigma was part of Moskalyev's series of innovative designs exploring aerodynamic efficiency. The aircraft was not developed into a production type but contributed to Soviet understanding of high-speed aerodynamics in the pre-war period.

A single prototype was constructed; no production followed.
