- Elliptical wings on an all-wood mid-wing glider
- T-tail
- Side-by-side seating in a fuselage of relatively large diameter
An all-wood two-seater with elliptical wings, a T-tail and unusually wide side-by-side seating.

History
Ernst Reinecke designed it in 1951 as a two-seat trainer that could also be used for performance flying. It was built from November 1951 and first flew on 31 May 1952 at Leipzig-Mockau.
Variants
The retractable main wheel was later replaced by a jettisonable skid.
Where you'll see it
It was not put into production because its performance fell short of expectations. It was last flown for training in September 1953 and was later destroyed after being handed to TU Dresden for structural tests.
