WEFT is AircraftIQ's four-point recognition method — how it works.
Spot it by:
- Open girder fuselage of steel tube with the pilot exposed on a seat
- Wing mounted on top of the fuselage, rectangular with elliptical tips
- Broad curved rudder on a near-rectangular fin
Look for a bare steel-tube girder fuselage tapering rearwards, with a rectangular wing carried on top and a skid for landing.
Specifications
- The Naleszkiewicz-Nowotny NN 2 has a length of 6.93 m (23 ft).
- It has a wingspan of 12 m (39 ft).
- Typical crew: 1.

History
It was a primary, open-frame glider of composite construction, designed by Jarosław Naleszkiewicz and Adam Nowotny. The wing was a two-part fabric-covered structure with slotted ailerons.
Variants
The original NN 2 had an exposed seat and wire wing bracing, and two were built. The NN 2bis of 1932 had a revised girder fuselage with a nacelle cockpit and rigid bracing, and one was built.
Where you'll see it
Both of the first NN 2s went on the sixth Lwów Aeroclub expedition to Bezmiechowa Górna in September 1931. On the following year's expedition a flight of 3 hr 56 min 29 s was flown by Kurowski.
