The Progressive Aerodyne SeaRey is an amphibious light sport kit aircraft combining a flying boat hull with retractable wheeled undercarriage, allowing operations from both water and land. Its high-mounted pusher engine keeps the propeller clear of spray.

History
Kerry Richter and Progressive Aerodyne of Tavares, Florida developed the SeaRey in the early 1990s and it has become one of the most successful amphibious homebuilt designs worldwide. The composite hull and high-mounted Rotax engine on a pylon give it an unusual but practical profile. Factory-built light sport versions are also available.
Variants
The SeaRey Elite is a higher-specification kit version; the SeaRey LSX is a factory-built S-LSA; sport and advanced models vary in avionics fit.
Where you'll see it
SeaReys hold UK LAA permits and attract considerable interest at coastal and waterway flying clubs; the amphibious capability is well suited to the UK's network of inland waters.
