History
It was designed in 1949 and first flew in late August 1951. It was built by Alexander Schleicher in Germany.
Variants
A major redesign in Australia led to the ES49B Kangaroo.
Where you'll see it
Only six were built in Germany by Schleicher, and gliding clubs in Australia later built three from plans as the Wallaby.
