The Skylark 3 is a man-portable, electrically powered tactical UAV from Elbit Systems, bridging the gap between small hand-launched UAVs and larger tactical systems. It provides battalion and brigade-level commanders with persistent ISR without requiring dedicated ground support equipment.

History

The Skylark family was developed by Elbit Systems to meet IDF demand for lightweight organic reconnaissance UAVs deployable by infantry units. The Skylark 3 represented a significant capability step over earlier models with extended endurance approaching 24 hours and a heavier sensor payload.

Variants

The Skylark family includes the smaller Skylark 1 and Skylark 2; the Skylark 3 LE (Long Endurance) variant stretched endurance further through more efficient propulsion.

Where you'll see it

In service with the Israel Defense Forces and exported to military customers including several European NATO members; it has seen operational use in surveillance and targeting roles.
