The Sukhoi Su-6 was a Soviet WWII single-seat armoured ground-attack aircraft prototype that competed with the Ilyushin Il-2 but was not selected for mass production.

History
Pavel Sukhoi's team developed the Su-6 in parallel with the Il-2 programme; it demonstrated superior speed but Ilyushin's aircraft was already in mass production and the Soviet industry could not accommodate a switch. Several variants were tested through the war.
Variants
Both single- and two-seat versions were evaluated, along with variants powered by the Shvetsov M-71 and Mikulin AM-42 engines.
