History

Władysław Nowakowski and Justyn Sandauer were the main designers at the Glider Experimental Works in Bielsko-Biała. It made its first hop on 5 January 1951, and its first real flight was on 2 February 1951, flown by Adam Zientek.

Variants

Only one was built, registered SP-1220. Its controls could be set up in several configurations to test pitch and roll control.

Where you'll see it

An early aerotow nearly ended in disaster when pilot-induced oscillations damaged it. Pilots agreed it was not suitable for production, and it is now displayed in a museum.
