The SM-92 Finist is a rugged single-engine STOL utility aircraft built around a radial piston engine, able to operate from rough strips, snow or water.

History
Designed by the Technoavia bureau and built at Smolensk, it first flew on 28 December 1993 with a Vedeneyev M-14 radial. It was conceived as a versatile bush aircraft for the vast Russian hinterland.
Variants
Versions include the baseline SM-92, the turboprop SM-92T Turbo Finist, and float- or ski-equipped fits for water and winter operations. It has served in agricultural, patrol and parachute-dropping roles.
Where you'll see it
Russian border guards, aeroclubs and skydiving operators are the main users, with a handful exported. It has no UK service, filling a bush-utility niche occupied here by Cessna and Pilatus singles.
