Spot it by:
- Braced high wing with a rectangular central third and straight tapered outer panels
- Plywood fuselage, rectangular in section and strongly tapered to the tail
- Open cockpit immediately forward of the wing leading edge
A high-wing braced monoplane with a largely fabric-covered wing, high aspect ratio rectangular tailplane at the extreme tail and a narrow, tall rudder.
Specifications
- The Teichfuss Tenax has a length of 5 m (16 ft).
- It has a wingspan of 14 m (46 ft).
- Typical crew: 1.

History
Teichfuss had seen several German gliders, including the Geheimrat, Konsul and Moritz, at the 1924 gliding competition at Asiago, and these influenced the Tenax. Its wing was a two-spar design with an aspect ratio of 12.25.
Variants
Only one Tenax was built. It initially had two bracing struts on each side of the wing, but later just one.
Where you'll see it
The Tenax made its first flights in 1926, piloted by Umberto Nannini, and was sometimes winch launched. An attempt on the Italian distance record ended in a rough landing after 9 km.
