Watchkeeper WK450 was the British Army's tactical surveillance and target-acquisition drone, an anglicised, radar-equipped development of the Israeli Elbit Hermes 450. It flew unarmed intelligence missions, not strikes.

Look for a small twin-boom airframe with a pusher propeller between the booms, a plump nose, and both a belly radar pod and sensor ball. It resembles the Hermes 450 but with the bulged British sensor fit.

History
Built at Leicester by U-TacS, the Thales-Elbit joint venture, Watchkeeper first flew in the UK on 14 April 2010 after protracted development. It deployed operationally to Afghanistan in 2014, supporting troops in Helmand during the final British months there.
Variants
The WK450 was the sole British production version, distinguished from the parent Hermes 450 by its dual sensor fit — an I-Master radar with moving-target indication plus an electro-optical turret — and automatic take-off and landing. An armed variant was studied but never fielded.
Where you'll see it
Operated by the Royal Artillery's 47th Regiment from Larkhill and Boscombe Down, the fleet also flew Channel migrant-monitoring patrols for the Home Office. A string of crashes dogged the programme, and the Army announced its early retirement in 2024 in favour of newer uncrewed systems.
