History
Built in the mid-1930s as an experimental destroyer-interceptor, the ANT-29 represented Soviet interest in large-calibre airborne weapons. The aircraft flew but the concept was not pursued into production, as the recoilless cannon installation proved impractical for operational service.

Only a single prototype was completed; no production variants were authorised.
