The RQ-2 Pioneer is an early tactical reconnaissance drone developed jointly by the US and Israel, among the first unmanned aircraft to see sustained combat use by the US military.

History
Developed from Israeli UAV experience and fielded from 1986, the Pioneer flew reconnaissance and artillery-spotting missions for the US Navy, Marine Corps and Army, notably during the 1991 Gulf War.
Variants
Flown from ships via rocket-assisted or net-based recovery, or from land runways; minor sensor and engine updates were made across its long service life.
