History

The students began the design in mid-1979 and the first flight was made on 9 April 1980, to test a new wing profile from the German Aerospace Centre for high cruising performance.

Variants

Only one SB-12 was built, so there were no variants.

Where you'll see it

It was not intended for production. The sole SB-12, D-1225, stayed with the group until it was sold in 1989 and was back at Brunswick in 2007, still on the German register in 2010.
