Beagle Pup

The Beagle Pup was a clean and capable British light aircraft developed in the late 1960s as a two- or three-seat trainer and tourer. It gained recognition as an aerobatic trainer and was later developed into the Scottish Aviation Bulldog.

History
First flown in April 1967, the Pup entered production in Series 100, 150, and 160 variants depending on engine power. Beagle Aircraft's insolvency in 1970 ended Pup production, but the design was taken over by Scottish Aviation and developed into the Bulldog military trainer, which enjoyed far greater commercial success.
Variants
The Pup 100 (100 hp), Pup 150 (150 hp), and Pup 160 (160 hp) differed primarily in powerplant; the Bulldog was a strengthened aerobatic derivative adopted by the RAF and many foreign air forces.
Where you'll see it
Operated by private owners and flying clubs in the UK and abroad; the Pup itself saw no significant military service, though its Bulldog derivative served with the RAF as its primary ab-initio trainer.
