History

Introduced for model year 1969, the Baron 58 was developed from the Baron 55 with a ten-inch fuselage stretch and a higher gross weight. Its longer cabin and double rear doors made it popular for charter and cargo, and it remains in production as the glass-cockpit G58 with Continental engines.

Variants

The line includes the base 58, the pressurised turbocharged 58P, the unpressurised turbocharged 58TC and the current Garmin G1000-equipped G58. Engine choices span Continental IO-520 and IO-550 units.

Where you'll see it

In the UK the Baron 58 serves twin-engine training, private ownership and light charter from regional airfields. Its capability and load-carrying make it a long-standing choice for pilots building multi-engine time.
