History

In 1928 Blackburn designed and built a private-venture lightweight biplane fighter powered by an Armstrong Siddeley Lynx IVC engine, of wooden construction, which first appeared in May 1928. It performed well in demonstrations but failed to gain any orders.

Variants

The Lincock I was a wooden prototype and the Lincock II a metal-construction prototype. The Lincock III was the production version, and the Piaggio P.11 was a two-seat aerobatic trainer built under licence in Italy.

Where you'll see it

Five Lincock IIIs were produced: two went to China, two to Japan and one stayed as a demonstrator. The Lincock II was tested in Canada in 1930, and was later used for public aerobatic displays in 1933 and 1934.
