Spot it by:
- High braced wing supported over the nacelle by a single N-form strut
- Open frame rear fuselage carrying the tail
- Hexagonal plywood nacelle with a deep sprung landing skid
A simple high braced wing with a straight, constant-chord centre section and straight tapered outer panels with rounded tips, above an open pilot nacelle and an open frame rear fuselage.
Specifications

- It has a wingspan of 12.11 m (40 ft).
- Typical crew: 1.

History
It was designed by Camillo Silva. Its first flight was probably in 1932, although all known registrations date from September 1931.
Variants
The number built is uncertain: photographic evidence exists for only one, but the rebuilt Italian register records four or five.
Where you'll see it
The Basettino was able to soar, and its performance was good enough for pilots to obtain their C certificate.
