The Dewoitine D.376 was a French naval fighter variant developed from the D.37 series, intended for carrier-borne operations with the French Navy in the mid-1930s. It was a single-seat monoplane with an air-cooled radial engine.

History

The D.376 was part of Dewoitine's family of parasol monoplane fighters that also served the French Air Force; the naval version incorporated folding wings and deck-landing equipment. It equipped French Navy squadrons during the mid-to-late 1930s before being superseded by more capable designs.

Variants

The D.376 is the naval carrier version of the D.37 family; the D.371 and D.373 were earlier members of the same lineage serving the Armée de l'Air and Aéronavale respectively.
