The Extra 300 is a high-performance aerobatic monoplane with a carbon-fibre wing spar, designed for unlimited competition and airshow flying.

History
Designed by German aerobatic pilot Walter Extra and built by Extra Flugzeugbau, the two-seat EA-300 first flew on 6 May 1988 and was certified in 1990. It evolved from Extra's earlier EA-230 and EA-260 designs and is powered by a 300 hp Lycoming AEIO-540.
Variants
The family includes the original EA-300, the low-wing EA-300L, the single-seat short-span EA-300S and the EA-300SC, plus the derivative 330LX and 330SC. Many appeared on the Red Bull Air Race circuit.
Where you'll see it
In the UK the Extra 300 is flown at aerobatic competitions and is a regular display aircraft at airshows, operated by clubs and professional display pilots. Its tandem cockpit also makes it popular for advanced aerobatic instruction.
