History

The Aéronavale adopted the Falcon 10MER to train pilots for carrier-borne combat jets, using its high-performance twin-turbofan characteristics to replicate the handling environment of fast jets before pilots transition to the Super Étendard. The type entered French naval service in the mid-1970s.

Variants

The MER (Marine Escadrille Rapide) is the sole military variant of the Falcon 10; the civil Falcon 10 and Falcon 100 are closely related.
