The Focke-Wulf Fw 191 was a twin-engined medium bomber prototype developed as part of the Bomber B programme, intended to replace the He 111 and Do 17 with a faster, more capable design. The aircraft was beset by engine problems and never reached production.

History
Designed by Focke-Wulf alongside competing designs from Junkers and Heinkel, the Fw 191 was flown in 1942 but suffered persistent problems with its intended BMW 801 engines, which were needed for fighter production. The alternative Jumo 222 engine was also unreliable, and the programme was cancelled in 1943.
Variants
Several prototypes were completed with different engine installations; no production followed.
