The Fuji T-5 is a Japanese turboprop primary trainer developed as an evolution of the piston-engined KM-2, fitted with an Allison 250 turboprop to provide performance more representative of modern military aircraft.

History
First flown in 1984, the T-5 was developed to succeed the KM-2 in Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force service. It retained the basic airframe of its predecessor but with a turboprop engine providing improved performance and reduced maintenance.
