Recognition (WEFT)
| W — Wings | Low-mounted, swept |
|---|---|
| E — Engines | 2 × turbofan, tail-mounted |
| F — Fuselage | Longest-range Gulfstream in service: extremely elongated fuselage with an extensive oval-window row — more windows than the G700 |
| T — Tail | T-tail |
WEFT is AircraftIQ's four-point recognition method — how it works.
Spot it by:
- Longest-range Gulfstream in service: extremely elongated fuselage with an extensive oval-window row — more windows than the G700
- Sharply swept wing with pronounced winglets; cleaner, more raked nose profile than older Gulfstream models
- Engine nacelles sit very high on the rear fuselage, giving a distinctive high-mounted appearance when seen from the ground
The G800 is visually near-identical to the G700 on the ground; the key difference is a slightly longer fuselage yielding one additional cabin window bay. Both are considerably larger than the G650 and dwarf earlier Gulfstreams.
Specifications
- The Gulfstream G800 has a length of 32.4 m (106 ft).
- It has a wingspan of 31.39 m (103 ft).
- Its maximum speed is 956 km/h (594 mph).
- Typical crew: 2 flight crew.

History
Announced at NBAA 2021 and first flown in October 2021, the G800 entered service in 2023. It is based on the G700 airframe with optimised fuel capacity and aerodynamic refinements to achieve the longest range in the Gulfstream family, targeting non-stop ultra-long-range city pairs such as Singapore–New York.
Variants
Offered as a single standard airframe with customer-specified interiors; a high-density configuration supports up to 19 passengers.
Where you'll see it
Entering European service from 2023 with operators based at Farnborough, Geneva and Zurich; early deliveries went to US-based fractional and charter operators.
