History
Hall Aluminum built the PH in modest numbers for the US Coast Guard during the early 1930s, where it performed long-range ocean patrols and rescue missions. The type's durable aluminum hull proved well-suited to the demanding marine environment. It remained in Coast Guard service into World War II before being retired.
Variants
Variants included the PH-1 and improved PH-2 and PH-3 versions with progressive engine and equipment upgrades for the Coast Guard.
