The Il-112 is a light twin-turboprop military transport designed to replace the veteran Antonov An-26 in Russian service.

History
Long studied as a paper project, the Il-112V finally made its first flight on 30 March 2019 with Klimov TV7-117 turboprops. Development suffered a severe setback when the sole flying prototype was lost in a crash near Kubinka in August 2021.
Variants
The military Il-112V is the primary version, with a civil freighter variant, the Il-112T, proposed to share the airframe. Both retain the high wing, ramp-equipped hold and six-bladed propellers.
Where you'll see it
The Il-112 was intended purely for Russian and allied use as a tactical airlifter and has no UK service dimension; the RAF fills the equivalent light-transport gap with types such as the Atlas and, historically, the Andover. The programme remains troubled.
