History
It was designed and built by Jamieson Corp, which had previously remanufactured military surplus Culver Cadets. The Model J first flew on 13 December 1962 and was powered by a 150 hp Lycoming O-320-A3C.
Variants
The earlier J-1 Jupiter of 1949 was a Culver Cadet converted with a V-tail. The Model J was a larger, new-built aircraft patterned closely on the Cadet.
Where you'll see it
Certification was achieved in July 1963. Only three examples were built before development was abandoned.
