The MFI-10 Vipan is a Swedish high-wing two-seat trainer designed by Malmö Flygindustri that led directly to the MFI-15/17 Safari military trainer lineage.

History
Malmö Flygindustri designed the Vipan in the late 1950s as a modern replacement for aging piston trainers. Its clean design and good handling led to military interest, and the type served as the basis for the later MFI-15 Safari adopted by several air forces. The company was later acquired by SAAB.
Variants
The MFI-10 Vipan is the civil prototype; the MFI-15 Safari is the military development with greater power and improved avionics.
Where you'll see it
Used by Swedish flying clubs for ab initio training; the evolved Safari served with the Swedish Air Force and was exported to Uganda and several other nations.
