The Mureaux 170 was a French single-seat parasol monoplane fighter prototype developed in the early 1930s by ANF Les Mureaux. It was derived from the company's family of fast military observation aircraft, among the quickest two-seaters of their day.

History

ANF Les Mureaux produced a series of parasol-wing reconnaissance monoplanes for the Armée de l'Air in the 1930s. The Mureaux 170 and its siblings (113, 115, 117) were notable for combining parasol-wing aerodynamics with powerful inline engines to achieve speeds competitive with contemporary fighters. The reconnaissance siblings equipped French units through the late 1930s and into the Battle of France; the 170 itself won no production orders.
