WEFT is AircraftIQ's four-point recognition method — how it works.
Spot it by:
- Wing mounted on top of a plywood semi-monocoque fuselage
- Single-spar wing with a plywood D-box leading edge
- Rubber-sprung landing skid under the forward fuselage
A glider with a wing supported by struts, a skid and, on some late aircraft, a semi-exposed monowheel.
Specifications
- The Rubik R-08 Pilis has a length of 6.74 m (22 ft).
- It has a wingspan of 13.6 m (45 ft).
- Its maximum speed is 160 km/h (99 mph).
- Typical crew: 1.

History
Rubik was influenced by the arrival in Hungary of a German Göppingen Gö 1. The prototype R-08a and the first production R-08b had gull wings, while later versions had wings without dihedral.
Variants
Later R-08d aircraft and the B-2, the name given to R-08d aircraft built from 1956, had enclosed cockpits. The Győr 3 Motor-Pilis had an 18 kW Porsche engine in a pusher position above the wing.
Where you'll see it
It was very successful: 269 were built in batches, the first from 1939 and the last in 1956.
