The SAN DR.1050 Excellence is a French two-seat light touring aircraft derived from the Jodel design family, built by the Société Aéronautique Normande from the late 1950s.

History
SAN licensed the Jodel design from the Delemontez-Conseil team and developed a series of refinements culminating in the DR.1050 Excellence, which offered improved performance and comfort over earlier Jodel variants. The type was produced in modest numbers through the 1960s for the French touring market.
Variants
The DR.1050 M1 Sicile Record was a higher-powered variant; the Excellence designation denoted the standard touring configuration.
Where you'll see it
Used by French aero clubs and private owners throughout the 1960s and 1970s, many surviving examples remain airworthy today as examples of the durable Jodel construction philosophy.
