History
Its origins lie in the SEV-3 amphibian and the two-seat SEV-2XP proposed by Alexander Kartveli. The type first flew on 15 August 1935.
Variants
Variants included the 2PA demonstrators, the Swedish B 6 and the US AT-12 Guardsman trainer.
Where you'll see it
Twenty 2PA-B3 were sold to Japan, used briefly in the Second Sino-Japanese War, found unsuitable as fighters and moved to reconnaissance. The Allied codename was Dick. Of 52 ordered by Sweden only two were delivered, and 50 became AT-12 trainers.
