History
It was developed from the Spartan C4 as a further attempt to market that design, with seating increased to five places and a number of aerodynamic refinements. The fuselage was welded steel tube and the wings wood, with fabric covering throughout.
Variants
The C5-300 had a Wright J-6 engine and three were built, while the single C5-301 had a Pratt & Whitney Wasp Junior.
Where you'll see it
Spartan was unable to sell the aircraft in any quantity, and built only four, including the prototype.
