History
VoltAero was founded by former Airbus chief technical officer Jean Botti to develop hybrid-electric commuter aircraft. The Cassio technology demonstrator first flew in 2020, validating a propulsion pod mounted at the tail that houses both electric motors and a conventional combustion engine as a range extender. The production Cassio 330 and larger variants target the commuter and air taxi market.
