The Mikoyan Ye-6 was the final pre-production prototype series for the MiG-21, flying from 1958 with the definitive R11F-300 turbojet and confirming the tailed delta configuration for series production.

History
Multiple Ye-6 airframes were constructed to refine systems, armament, and performance before MiG-21 production was authorised. The series achieved approximately Mach 2 performance and validated the design for the Soviet Air Force.

The Ye-6 series comprised several sub-variants (Ye-6/1, Ye-6/2, Ye-6/3) leading to the initial production MiG-21F.
